I’m super-excited because summer is finally here! And not only does that mean crabs, fireworks, and killer vacays but GIRLS ROCK! DC. Seriously, I’ve been waiting all year long for this. Counting down the days and months until I get to be joined again by all the awesomely inspiring girls and women who make up camp. This will be my third summer volunteering and I can’t wait to start teaching DJing to a whole new group of budding turntablistas.

Words cannot describe just how amazing and empowering those five days of camp are for all of us – kids and volunteers alike. I’m just sayin’….you have not lived until you’ve been in a Hall of Sisterhood taking part in a daily scream, then topped off the week with a show at 9:30 club featuring with dozens and dozens of girls shredding their little hearts out onstage.
